Phnom Bakheng

The last temple we saw that day (yes Iā€™m still on the Angkor Wat day!) was Phnom Bakheng. We went there only for a short time just to see the sunset. It is a popular place for people to go to climb up and watch the sunrise or sunset. We left right after the sun crossed the horizon for two reasons: One ā€“ there were lots of people who wanted to go down the steep staircase at the same time, and two ā€“ we were warned at Ta Phrom that if you stay past sunset, that's when the snakes come out. Plus I guess there are no lights so it would be difficult to see. But it is too bad because after we got in the car and started driving, the sky became a beautiful orange and red color. But it was fun to watch anyway.
