Ichigo Train

I think it was a few Mondays ago, we had a holiday for “Health Sports Day.” Scott and I decided to take a short trip on the train to go take pictures. There is a small line that goes out east and it has two special trains. One is the Ichigo (strawberry) train and the other is the Toy train. The Ichigo train is decorated completely in strawberries from the ones painted inside, to the upolstry inside. They Toy train is of course full of toys in display cases and has many small vending machines to buy toys. Of course with our timing, we missed taking either train on both the way there and the way back. But I did snap one picture of the Ichigo train when we passed it. But the best part is their mascot. At the end of the line, their little calico kitty, Tama-chan (I can read her name tag!), sits in her strawberry bed wearing her conductors hat. She is so adorable! Now why won’t Sumi wear the clothes I got him without throwing a fit! Anyways, she is there for the public to look at and pet of course. She was the perfect little mascot.
There was not much to see way out at the end of the train line, but I’m glad we checked it out. Here are some shots of the fields and such. Oh! And I finally found a rice vending machine out there! Didn’t buy any. And no the rice is not cooked.
The sign of the small child drowning says abunai (dangerous)!

  • Nice to see the countryside. Sounds like a nice excursion. Nice kitty--looks like our Mindy (she is grey where this one is black.)
